Privacy Policy

The short version

  • Sagat has no account, no ads and no analytics on how you use it.
  • What you record — sessions, projects, settings — stays on your iPhone. We never receive it.
  • The one outside service is RevenueCat, which handles Sagat Pro purchases.
  • App blocking uses Apple’s Screen Time. Sagat never learns which apps you choose.

Who we are

Sagat is an iPhone app made by Dostan Turlybek, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the Sagat app and this website.

If anything here is unclear, write to turlybekdostan@gmail.com.

What stays on your iPhone

Everything you create in Sagat is stored on your device:

WhatExamples
Session logWhen each Work, Break and Free Time block started, paused, resumed and ended; Time Debt added and repaid; pauses you mark as distractions.
ProjectsThe names you type, and which project a session belongs to.
SettingsSession lengths, Free Time and Time Debt options, appearance, notification choices, your day-plan window, and the names of the shortcuts used by Quiet mode.
App blocking choiceAn opaque reference, issued by iOS, to the apps, categories and websites you picked. Sagat can’t read names from it.

This information is stored in Sagat’s protected storage on your iPhone, which the app shares only with its own widget and Live Activity so they can show your day. It is not sent to us, to RevenueCat or to any other third party — Sagat has no servers of its own to send it to.

It is removed when you delete the app. If you back up your iPhone (for example with iCloud Backup or to a computer), the backup may include this data. That copy is held by Apple or by you, under Apple’s terms — not by us.

What we collect

Through the app: nothing about you or how you use it. We don’t collect your name, email address, contact details, location, contacts, photos or usage analytics, and Sagat doesn’t ask you to create an account. The one exception is purchase information, described below.

Through Apple: if you’ve chosen to share app analytics with developers in your iOS settings, Apple may send us anonymous, aggregated crash and usage reports through App Store Connect. We can’t identify you from them.

Through this website: nothing. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. Like any web server, the service that hosts these pages may keep standard access logs — such as IP address, date and the page requested — for security and operations.

Purchases and RevenueCat

Sagat is free to use. Some features need Sagat Pro, an optional purchase made through the App Store.

  • Apple processes your payment. We never see your card details, your Apple ID or your billing address.
  • RevenueCat checks what you’re entitled to. To find out whether Pro is active, Sagat uses RevenueCat, Inc., a service that validates purchases with Apple and tells the app what has been unlocked. RevenueCat acts as our processor.

RevenueCat receives:

  • a random app user ID that RevenueCat generates for your installation — it isn’t your name, email address or Apple ID;
  • your purchase and subscription information from Apple, such as which product you bought, when, and whether it is active or has renewed;
  • technical details that accompany any network request: device model, iOS version, app version, language and region, and your IP address, which RevenueCat uses to work out your country.

We don’t send RevenueCat your sessions, projects or settings, or anything else you record in the app. We use this information only to run Pro — to unlock it, to restore it, and to see aggregate subscription figures (for example, how many people are subscribed) so we can support and improve the app.

RevenueCat stores this data on servers in the United States. Its privacy policy describes how it handles it.

Legal bases (where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies): performing our contract with you, which is providing Pro; and our legitimate interest in keeping purchase records and preventing fraud.

Apple features Sagat uses

Sagat uses several iOS features. They run on your device, and none of them sends information to us.

  • Screen Time (App blocking, Pro). iOS asks for your permission first. You pick apps, categories and websites in Apple’s own picker, and iOS hands Sagat anonymous tokens instead of names — so Sagat can’t tell which apps you chose. The tokens are stored only on your device. iOS applies the block, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings → Screen Time.
  • Notifications. Sagat schedules notifications on your device — for the end of a block, and, with Pro, the weekly digest and the day-plan reminder. They are created locally; no push notification server is involved. You can change the permission any time in iOS Settings.
  • Live Activities and widgets. They show your running block and today’s totals on the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island and on the Home Screen, using data on your device. Anyone who can see your screen can see them; you can hide them in iOS Settings.
  • Shortcuts (Quiet mode). If you turn on Quiet mode, Sagat asks the Shortcuts app to run a shortcut you named and passes it the length of the block in seconds. What the shortcut does is up to you. Sagat gets back only whether it worked.

What we never do

  • We don’t sell or share your personal information.
  • We don’t show ads or work with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and Sagat doesn’t use your advertising identifier.
  • We don’t build profiles of you or make automated decisions about you.
  • We don’t put analytics or crash-reporting code in the app. The only third-party code in Sagat is RevenueCat’s purchases SDK.

Keeping and deleting data

Data on your iPhone stays until you delete it. Deleting Sagat removes it, and there is no copy with us. To start over, delete the app.

RevenueCat keeps purchase records for as long as they are needed to run Pro and to meet legal and accounting obligations. If you’d like the data linked to your purchases deleted, write to us and we’ll ask RevenueCat to delete it. Because your app user ID is random, we may ask for something that identifies your purchase, such as an Apple order number.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, California and other US states — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal data about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. We don’t sell or share personal information as those terms are used in California law, and we won’t treat you differently for using your rights.

Sagat holds almost nothing about you: your sessions are on your device, where you can see and delete them. For anything linked to your purchases, write to us and we’ll reply as soon as we reasonably can, and within any period the law sets.

Children

Sagat is a general-audience productivity app and isn’t directed to children under 13, or under 16 where the law sets a higher age. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we’ll delete it.

International transfers

We don’t transfer your Sagat data anywhere: it stays on your device. Purchase information handled by RevenueCat is stored in the United States. RevenueCat describes the safeguards it applies to international transfers in its privacy policy.

Security

Your data lives in Sagat’s protected storage on your iPhone and benefits from iOS’s built-in protections, such as the app sandbox and device encryption when you use a passcode. Connections to RevenueCat are encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but keeping your data on your device avoids a whole class of risks.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change would meaningfully affect how your data is handled — for example, if Sagat starts syncing between your devices — we’ll update this policy before the change reaches you, and tell you in the app where the law requires it.
